GoMatha Seva Project

Every Saturday / Sunday
At this time the center is collecting wasted produce (produce that the local stores cannot sell) from Indian grocery stores which otherwise would reach the trash. Every Saturday our volunteers go and pickup this non-saleable produce that has been left behind and take it to a local cow sanctuary for feeding the rescued cattle there.
For more details please contact Vijay Kasturi at vijay.kasturi@gmail.com

St. John's Shelter & TheGatheringInn Dinner Service

The Gathering Inn dinner Service (1st Sunday of every month)
St. John's Women's Shelter dinner service (3rd Saturday of every month)
Every month the Sai Center serves 5 course dinner at these locations. We are always looking for volunteers to help serve and donate food. Each month an excel signup sheet will be distributed with the needed items. The project helps serve dinner for about 100 people at each of the locations.

Canned Food Collection for Local Food Bank

This is an ongoing Food Cans Drive. The collection bin is located next to the door near Ganesha. Every month on the fourth Saturday we donate what has been collected to the Folsom Twin Lakes food bank. The effort you make to donate at least one can of food will go for the benefit of others.

Sandwich Project

Every Saturday at 9:00 AM

10 years ago about 20 families around the Sacramento area started the service of providing about 100 sandwich bags to underprivileged families and children every Saturday of each month. These families graciously gave Sai Seva Sadan the opportunity to host and continue this project at a larger scale.

The PB&J snack bags are given primarily to children during the weekend where they typically get only 2 meals per day. For some kids these Snack bags provide a School day snack. With this service we are helping our future generation become more focused on their school work without the worry of their next meal or snack. We also provide separate bags for children that may have Peanut Allergy. Once the sandwich bags are made, volunteers from Sai Seva Sadan will deliver the bags to an organization in Sacramento.

Since this project started, over 17,000 snack bags have been provided to the kids of the shelter!

Computer Tutoring

These skills give students the self-confidence to better their lives and hope for a better future.
This simple Computer Class with the help from you will help them stand on their own.
